Health inequalities and anti-poverty strategies are defined at national level. The mayor cities have health units, which seek to integrate initiatives to reduce health inequalities into citizen services.  

Policy responses

On the regional level, equity concerns are addressed in relation to the provision of health care services, which are addressed in the framework of social development policies. The more health promotion oriented activities are being delivered by the Regional Public Health Offices that, according to the new National Health Promotion Program, will focus on creating conditions promoting good health for the entire population and encouraging partnership work.
